I am a PhD student in Health Economics and Outcomes Research at the Comparative Health Outcomes, Policy, and Economics (CHOICE) Institute at the University of Washington. My research focuses on health decision science and economic evaluation, with the goal of quantifying the value of policies and translating uncertainty into actionable guidance for policymakers, particularly on behalf of populations whose voices are often absent from the policymaking process.

My area of interest includes:

  1. Economic evaluation for underrepresented populations worldwide, through the use of simulation modeling to estimate the potential effects of policies and clinical measures where empirical evidence is limited and decisions have historically been made anecdotally rather than through rigorous, evidence-based analysis.

  2. Methodological advancement for emerging public health threats, including new health economic approaches suited to high-uncertainty, rapidly evolving challenges, such as future pandemics, climate change, and artificial intelligence, where conventional methods struggle to keep pace.

In the future, I aspire to two intertwined roles:

  • As a policy advisor, I aim to bring rigorous methods to bear on real decision-making problems, translating complex evidence into clear, actionable guidance at the table where decisions about population health and clinical practice are actually made.

  • As an educator, I hope to share not only technical skills but the lived experience of navigating research across disciplines, institutions, and cultures, nurturing the next generation of scholars and co-creating knowledge with them for better public health.

I am a strong believer in the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and have supported this commitment outside my professional work, including serving as a scientific committee member of the R for Health Techonology Assessment in Low- and Middle-Income Countries chapter, and completing a solo cycling fundraising ride along Route 66 to support family and community health efforts in Nigeria. My aspiration is to help build a world where everyone, regardless of where they live or how readily their voice is currently heard, can pursue their fullest, healthiest life.

米国シアトルのワシントン大学CHOICE Institute（Comparative Health Outcomes, Policy, and Economics）にて、医療経済・アウトカム研究（Health Economics and Outcomes Research）の博士課程に在籍しています。医療における意思決定科学と経済評価を専門とし、不確実な状況下における医療政策の経済的価値を定量化することで、政策立案者に意思決定の指針を示すことを目指しています。特に、政策立案の現場で、声が届きにくい社会的弱者の視点を届けることを大切にしています。

関心のあるテーマは以下の通りです。

  1. あらゆる国を対象とした、社会的弱者を対象とした経済評価。実証的なエビデンスが乏しく、これまで経験則や政治的配慮に基づいて意思決定がなされてきた政策・臨床上の施策について、数理・統計モデルを用いてその医療効果・経済効果を推計します。

  2. 新興の公衆衛生上の脅威に対応するための研究手法の開発。将来のパンデミック、気候変動、人工知能など、不確実性が高く急速に変化する課題など、従来の手法では対応が難しい領域に適した新たな医療経済学的アプローチを構築しています。

将来的には、以下の二つの役割を担いたいと考えています。

  • 政策アドバイザーとして、厳密な研究手法を実際の意思決定の現場に活かし、複雑なエビデンスを、人々の健康や臨床に関する意思決定が実際になされる場において、明確で実践的な指針へと昇華すること。

  • 教育者として、技術的なスキルだけでなく、分野・組織・文化を横断して研究に取り組んできた自らの経験を伝え、次世代の研究者を育みながら、共に知識を作り公衆衛生を向上させていくこと。

多様性・公平性・包摂性（DEI）の力を強く信じており、本業以外でもその実践に取り組んでいます。医療技術評価のためのR（低中所得国支部） の運営委員を務めているほか、ナイジェリアの家族・地域医療の支援のため、ルート66を単独で自転車横断するチャリティーライド を行いました。どこに暮らしていても、また声が政策立案に届きやすい立場にあるかどうかにかかわらず、誰もが自分らしく命を全うできる世界の実現に貢献したいと考えています。
